Device Warranty/Insurance FAQ

CPS Extended Warranty/Insurance:

CPS Insurance & Extended Warranty extends warranty and provides accidental coverage for 4-years from the date of purchase and allows accidental repairs up to the price of laptop at no deductible. Consumer Priority Service (CPS) does not have standard, walk-in brick-and-mortar storefronts. Instead of visiting a physical center, you must initiate a claim directly with CPS, after which they will either send a prepaid shipping label for you to mail in your computer, or authorize a repair at a local, certified repair center in your area.  Repair service is also available at Huskertech Help Center in the lower level of Love Library South, where they can facilitate this process for you. The device is auto-enrolled at time of purchase and a confirmation email will be sent. 

If you want to add CPS and didn't purchase your laptop from Huskertech, you can bring in the device and receipt within one year of purchase to add it.

AppleCare+:

AppleCare is offered through Huskertech at a discounted educational price. It extends the limited-warranty and provides accidental coverage for 3-years from the date of purchase. Each incident is associated with a deductible (see below). In addition, you will also get 24/7 priority access to Apple experts by chat or phone.  Repair service is available at Huskertech Help Center in the lower level of Love Library South. Repairs can also be facilitated at any Apple certified repair center domestically and internationally. The device is auto-enrolled at time of purchase and a confirmation email will be sent. AppleCare+ Deductible Pricing:

MacBooks: $99 service fee for screen or external closure damage, or $299 service fee for other accidental damage (e.g., battery issues, etc.)

iPads: $49 service fee for the iPad, or $29 service fee for accessories (Apple Pencil or Keyboard)

 

Neither CPS nor AppleCare+ cover lost or stolen devices. Terms and conditions subject to change at CPS and Apple's discretion.  For advice on what to do if your Apple device is lost or stolen, go to Apple's AppleCare Website and click on the "What do I do if my device was lose or stolen?" drop down (at the very bottom of the page).  We also recommend reporting any stolen devices to your local police.
