Verizon: Terms of Service

For all plans some restrictions apply.

Upgrades 

An approved Verizon device is required for service. Non-Verizon devices may not fully activate or work with Verizon’s service after activation. If I bring my own device I am eligible to upgrade at any time and may request to cancel my service at any time without a termination fee. To upgrade and receive a discounted device I will be entered into a 2-year contract. There will be a non-refundable $25 Activation Fee for all new devices purchased. A $30 shipping fee will be charged for any device shipped out of the state of Nebraska. Devices cannot be shipped internationally. Packages will need to be signed for upon delivery. With every device order the contract is renewed for an additional 24 months, after which I will be eligible to upgrade. Cancellations before contract completion are subject to an Early Termination Fee. The Early Termination Fee is $500 if canceled or transferred within the first 12 months of the contract and $250 after 12 months. Contract cancellations include transferring to a different carrier. Device purchases are billed in full, there is no option for monthly installments. Devices purchased through Verizon are locked for 60 days. All devices ordered must be activated within 30 days on the number it was ordered under and must remain active for 30 days on that line. The upgrade eligibility date begins the day the device is activated. If previous criteria are not met the full retail price of the device can be billed to me. 

Warranty & Exchange 

Verizon offers a one (1) year limited warranty on all eligible devices purchased through Huskertech. Any customer sustained or physical damage voids the warranty. All warranty replacement devices are refurbished devices and will be the same model as eligible device. Verizon offers one (1) Worry Free Guarantee (WFG) exchange within the first 30 days of device purchase. Device needs to be in original condition with all original accessories and original box in order to exchange. 

Billing 

I agree to pay the monthly fee and any usage fees incurred. Taxes and surcharges will be charged on all plans and can change without notice. For any billing disputes a maximum of 3 months will be considered for back-credit after approval and review by a Huskertech manager. Any dispute to a charge on my bill must be made within 60 days of the date of the bill that initially contained the charge. Disputes can only be made in writing via email as directed on my invoice. I accept all charges not properly disputed within the above time period – undisputed charges must still be paid as stated on my bill. The billing period begins on the 1st of every month or the day I sign up for service and ends on the last day of the month or the day service is ended. Minute and data usage restarts on the 23rd of the month with Verizon’s cycle (23rd – 22nd). Usage is billed one month behind on monthly invoices. Plans can only be backdated for one (1) invoice.  

The individual filling out the contract is the primary account holder. This individual is the only one authorized to receive account information and make account changes. To allow another individual to have access a separate authorized account holder form will need to be filled out by the account holder if additional individual(s) are not listed when signing up for service. By listing someone as an authorized account holder I am giving permission to Huskertech to provide them with my account information, including but not limited to bills, call detail, usage and voicemail. I also agree to allow plan, contract changes, phone orders, and cancellations by the person(s) listed. 

Huskertech reserves the right to suspend/cancel service for unpaid bills and/or if contract terms are not met. Any unpaid balance after the due date may be subject to a late payment charge of 1.333% of my past due balance. A $10 reactivation fee applies to devices suspended by Huskertech.  

An Administrative Billing Fee of $1 will be charged on all accounts not signed up for autopay. Intensive English Program (IEP) students are required to sign up for autopay. Autopay is not available to students. 

Usage & Features 

Plans cover domestic usage only. Any International usage (to or from the US) including but not limited to data usage, calls, and texts will be billed at an additional rate. Select global features can be added to my service for an additional charge. Check with a Huskertech employee before doing any international travel. Wi-Fi calling to a country other than the US is charged international long-distance rates regardless of whether I have an international travel plan.  

Unused minutes do not carry over to the next month. Calling Features included with plan: basic voice mail (airtime applied), caller ID, call waiting, hotspot, and 3-way calling (will double minutes used). There is no charge for calls I do not answer. I will be charged minutes each time I call out regardless of if there is an answer. Checking Visual Voicemail falls under data usage. Checking Voicemail falls under minute usage. Plans can only be backdated for one invoice. For any plan change to a higher minute allowance lines must stay on the higher plan for a minimum of two billing cycles (60 days). Plan changes to a lower minute option will go into effect the day they are processed. 

Data may be throttled at 25GB to 200kbps up/down in each billing cycle. This threshold number is periodically evaluated and may change over time. The hotspot feature bundles with my cellular data usage. Any data usage – via cellular and hotspot – contributes to and is affected by the data throttling. 

Eligibility 

All plans, features, and add-ons offered at Huskertech are available only to University of Nebraska System employees, retirees, and registered UNL students and are subject to change with notice. I understand that in the event I am no longer a student at UNL or employed by the University of Nebraska System I will no longer be eligible for service through Huskertech, however my contract will still apply. I will be provided at least two weeks’ notice before my service is terminated. Termination fees will apply to any lines in contract. I am eligible to keep service if I retire from UNL. 

Communication 

All requests including but not limited to upgrades, plan changes, and feature adds and removes must be made in writing – phone calls are not accepted to make changes. All requests must be made directly with the Huskertech store and not through Verizon or any other agency.     

I understand and agree that any phone number and/or e-mail address provided by myself to this office or to the University of Nebraska and to any of their service providers, now and in the future, may be used as a means to contact me. I understand and agree that this office and their service providers may leave messages for me manually and/or by an automated system. I also agree that this office and any service providers may contact me via phone call, e-mail, or text message. I consent to receive such communications which may include the name of this office and/or service provider and may disclose the nature of the communication. Communication may also include confidential information. In the future, should I acquire a new or different cellular number, land line, or e-mail address, I agree that this consent would stay effective. I am responsible for providing a non-University email address and for notifying this office of any address, phone number, or e-mail changes. I understand that I must notify Huskertech in writing my enrollment in NTAP (The Nebraska Telephone Assistant Program) including date of approved enrollment. Services or software provided by third parties, 911, or E911, text to 911, or other calling or messaging functionality, may work differently than services offered by us, or may not work at all.  

Liability 

I agree Huskertech is not liable for problems caused by myself or a third party, or by any act of nature. I also agree Huskertech isn't liable for missed or deleted voice mails or other messages, for any information such as pictures that get lost or deleted if they work on my device, or for failure or delay in connecting a call or text to 911 or any other emergency service. I must report my device lost/stolen to Huskertech immediately to avoid charges/ usage I don't authorize.
